Our First March, on March First
March 1st was the first event put on by the US! About 50 people came to march with us on a 32-degree day.
People took turns on the megaphone to share their reason for attending the event.
One reason was to speak out against the recent bill that passed. It removes protections against discrimination from transgender folks.
Another spoke about her support for the people, as a city council woman for a town in Iowa.
The chants we shared were:
"No hate in our state"
"Transgender rights are human rights."
"Hey hey, ho ho, hate has got to go."
US intends to grow into a cause that pushes against hate and division across the United States. We want to bring all groups together for one reason: increase unity and decrease division.
